How to Auto Refresh a Website on iPhone

Last updated: November 5, 2026

Safari has no auto refresh, and neither does Chrome on iPhone. To reload a page every few seconds, you need an app that does it for you.

In Universal Clicker you open the page in the app's own browser and say how often to reload it, for example every 30 seconds. It keeps reloading until the run finishes or you stop it. After each reload, it can check for the text or button you want and tap it when it appears.

Set it up

  1. Install Universal Clicker on your iPhone, iPad or Android phone.
  2. On Home, tap Describe and write what you want, with the website. For example: “Open example.com/tickets, reload it every 30 seconds until Available appears, then tap Buy.”
  3. The AI opens the page, builds the steps and tests them. Check the steps and tap Save.
  4. Tap Run and choose how many times, or Until I stop.

Or build it yourself

Tap Step by step on Home. Inside Repeat steps, add Go back or reload and choose Reload the page, then add Wait and an Only if… check. Only if… checks the page after each reload, so the steps inside it run only when the text or button you're waiting for is there.

Good to know

  • Keep the app open on screen: it doesn't run in the background or while the phone is locked.
  • If the website asks you to sign in, sign in once in the app's browser. The automation doesn't sign in for you.
  • Some websites limit visitors who reload very often. Waiting 30 seconds or more between reloads is gentler.
  • It's free to download; using it takes a weekly plan. Pro is $2.99 a week in the US, with a 3-day free trial for new customers where the store offers it.

A real automation

Check a page for a change

Reload, wait, and act only when the page shows what you're waiting for.

  1. 1Repeat 30 times:
    1. 1Reload the page
    2. 2Wait 10 seconds
    3. 3If the page shows In stock:
      1. 1Tap Notify me

Describe it in the app

Opens the AI chat in Universal Clicker. Say which page to reload, how often, and what to do when it changes.

Scan with your phone's camera to describe a task to the AI in the app. Without the app, the phone shows where to get it: the App Store or Google Play.

Questions

Can Safari auto refresh a page on iPhone?

No. Safari has no setting that reloads a page by itself, and Chrome on iPhone has none either. An app like Universal Clicker reloads the page for you in its own browser.

Does it keep refreshing in the background?

No. It runs while the app is open on screen. It doesn't run in the background or while the phone is locked.

Can it tap a button when the page changes?

Yes. An Only if… step checks the page after each reload. The steps inside it, such as a tap on Buy, run only when the text or button you're waiting for is on the page.

Does it work on iPad and Android?

Yes. Universal Clicker runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 15.1 or later) and on Android phones and tablets (Android 7.0 or later).
